Xbox 360 Core and Pro
The Xbox 360 Core and Pro were the first Xbox 360's ever released,
on November 22, 2005. Both models came in matte white. The difference
between the pro and the core models was that the pro came with a
hard disk (20GB or 60GB), whereas the core had no inbuilt storage
capacity. The pro was also packaged with a head set and an ethernet
cable, and came with a chrome disc drive. The 60gb pro model also
had support for HDMI, whereas the core did not, the original core/pro
were the only 36'0's never to come with support for HDMI (HD output).
As time passed, both models were upgraded with a Zephyr and Falcon
motherboard, just like with the Elite. This meant that the modern
versions of the 360 core/pro ran at a lower temperature, and produced
less noise than previous versions. The original core/pro 360's have
suffered from a high rate of failure, some of which were not covered
by warranty, and has severely impacted upon the 360's and Microsoft's
reputation. The Core and Pro models are no longer in production.
